The Graphene Lithium battery non-flammable has a promising future

The graphene lithium battery has a bright future because it became to be inexpensive to manufacture and has many advantages in terms of safety and competitiveness in terms of cell performance.

Plans for mass production :

American company Nanotech Energy, the world’s leading manufacturer of graphene has a patent for a non-flammable Graphene Lithium battery so it is the only producer of it.
It has a new 517-acre, a multiple-building manufacturing facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, working to grow and apply to industry to increase Nanotech Energy’s manufacturing capacity to produce and scale its new non-flammable graphene-base batteries, The company planning to produce 2.5 Gwh of batteries with the plan to continue expansion to as high as 15Gwh over the next several years. the new factory will also produce other graphene-powered products, including EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding, transparent conducting electrodes, conductive adhesives, conductive inks, and silver nanowires.
And Nanotech Energy plans to add new buildings and a combined for there factories footprint in excess of one million square feet, in support of the company’s exponential U.S. and international expansion. The new factory is anticipated to bring more than 1000 jobs to the region over the next five years, including a significant number of engineering and research positions. The first building is slated to open in Q4 2022 and they are currently taking battery pre-orders. They will begin limited production in 2023 with full production starting in 2024.

New Technology of battery :

The made battery uses a solution processing method that allows graphene to be coated on any material or substrate along with a laser process step that makes a graphene foam. The idea comes from applying its graphene technology to making better supercapacitors, but now the company focuses on its “super battery.”

As Nanotech Energy CEO Jack Kavanaugh said, his company is the first and only producer to break the 50% content barrier by reaching 98% monolayer graphene, the wonder material that powers their products, and they already developed groundbreaking energy storage using technology that has high capacity of a battery and the power performance of supercapacitors in a single solution.
According to the technical data sheet “GOC18650A” for the manufacturing of the Nonflammable batteries and company information about

™ batteries demonstrate, it has a cycle life of 1200 to 1400 (nearly 10 years) cycles before it degrades to ( 88%- 80%) compared to a traditional lithium-ion battery’s 300-500 cycles (about two to three years). Its gravimetric density is 215 Wh/kg, while its volumetric density stands at 557 Wh/l. The operating temperature range is from maintaining performance even during extreme temperatures and weather conditions (-40°C to +50°C / -40°F to +122°F) and decreasing charge times.
And Dr. Maher El-Kady, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Nanotech Energy commented: “We perfected the battery by utilizing the extraordinary electronic and mechanical properties of graphene to increase the battery capacity. To further increase the safety of a lithium-ion battery, we took a step further by designing a non-flammable electrolyte that can withstand operation at high temperatures without catching fire.”
